“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
What a blessing to be gathered on Sunday for worship! Surely, the presence of the Lord was with us then and is with us now. This is an exciting time to be the people of Jones Chapel Methodist! We have much to be thankful for. We are blessed with gifted staff: Leigh Anne, Nathan, and Amy who provide excellent leadership in each of their designated areas. We are blessed with committed volunteers who are faithful to serve each week assisting with various aspects of worship or who serve in ways that minister to needs in the church, community, and beyond. We are blessed to have people of all ages as part of Jones Chapel.
Sunday evening, we had a “Winter Fun” event at the Family Life Center. We enjoyed a delicious meal and then had opportunities to play games inside and enjoy the cozy fire outside. Everyone there enjoyed the fellowship and fun. I’m thankful to our nurture team for coordinating the event. Be on the lookout for the next Family Fun Night sometime in April.
There is a place for everyone at Jones Chapel. That is good news and something we need to let others know. I hope as you are reading this, images of those people and things that you appreciate most about Jones Chapel come to mind.
While we give thanks for what has been, we are excited about what is to come. This is an exciting season with opportunities for worship, spiritual growth, prayer, service, fellowship, and fun. I hope as you have found ways to connect that you are also looking for people who need someone to connect with. We are, after all, to be fishing. Who can you invite to come with you? Who do you know who needs to connect with Jesus?
I hope you are continuing to listen for the ways Jesus is calling you to come and follow Him. Maybe He is calling you to become a part of a small group. (It’s not too late to join a small group. See the church website for more information). Maybe he is calling you to serve in a new way. Maybe he is calling you to invite a specific friend or neighbor to worship, Bible study, or a Family Fun Night or Women’s Event.
Spend a few moments in quiet or listening to a favorite worship song/hymn as you listen for Jesus’ call to come and follow Him.
